For people with endometriosis, tissue similar to the inner uterus lining grows outside of the uterus, creating a painful sensation, mainly during menstrual periods. This can affect the pelvic lining tissue, fallopian tubes, and ovaries by extension. When involving the body’s ovaries, certain cysts or endometriomas, adhesions, and scar tissue can form.
